Low Carb Baked Apple Onion Stuffing




This baked stuffing will not only make the traditional turkey dinner more wonderful, but it can also do double duty as a side dish. Preheat oven to 325˚F. Butter or oil a medium ovenproof casserole dish or heavy-gauge metal baking pan.

Put the croutons in a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, drizzle lemon juice over the chopped apples. Set aside. Chop onion and celery.

Heat a large, heavy skillet over medium-low heat. Add oil and but- ter. Sauté the onion until it becomes translucent. Add celery and apples. Cook over low heat until apples are tender. If skillet gets too dry, add a few tablespoons of broth. Stir in salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add this mix to the croutons and stir thoroughly. Transfer all to the baking dish.
